About Ace-Kauffman
   Ace-Kauffman Stamp and Seal Company is one of Colorado's oldest companys, and one of America's oldest stamp companys.  It was founded in 1872 as the Denver Novelty Works Company by J.W. Macrum.  In 1876 it was located  at 284 16th Street, and later occupied two different buildings on Lawrence Street in downtown Denver.

   George P. Kauffman and Son bought the company in 1896, and finally settled at 1511 Stout Street where it remained from 1915 until 1958, referring to itself as the only stamp shop "uptown."

   When both the Kauffmans had died, salesman W.E. Larson bought the company and changed the name to "Ace-Kauffman" in 1946 in order to be listed first in the telephone book.  He moved the company down the street a block to 1409 Stout in 1958.

  Denver native Neil Hansen purchased the company in 1968 and his family manages it today at 2040 Welton Street.

  In the early days, making rubber and steel stamps, seal dies, door plates, brass key tags, and locksmithing were standards of the business, and most of those services are still performed today.  But Ace-Kauffman is primarily a manufacturing source for rubber and pre-inked stamps, corporate and notary seals, engraved nameplates and markings of all kinds.

  In 1990 Ace-Kauffman was chosen to be a member of the "Centennial Circle" and was featured in the Rocky Mountain News
